Hours: 37.5 - Monday to Friday

About the role of Assistant Quantity Surveyor:
The Assistant Quantity Surveyor role is a key role within the Group, assisting the commercial and senior management team in ensuring efficient contract delivery and exceeding the budgeted performance.
Responsibilities of an Assistant Quantity Surveyor:
Helping in managing costs and suggesting journal requests if needed
Reviewing monthly management accounts and key performance information
Monitoring and maintaining the data within the Company Inhouse Works Management System.
Ensuring the timely and accurate billing of works
Managing the Early Warning and Compensation Event process
Managing client disputes
Creating in-contract pricing, estimates and quotations
Assisting with recovering aged debt and cash collection
Helping to prepare revenue reports and monthly management accounts
Contributing to the overall management of commercial aspects of all contracts, including ensuring costs and revenue in correct periods.

What good looks like for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor:
Excellent negotiating Skills
Experience working within a commercial setting
Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of software - especially excel
Confident to work with an IT/Digital system led solution to commercial management
Ability to build new and existing relationships with Clients and suppliers

What looks even better for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor:
Knowledge and experience of Temporary Traffic Management
Good understanding of the NEC form of Contract
Understanding of management accounts and financial reporting processes
Previous demonstrable, experience in quantity surveying
