EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) Supervisor
Salary - £40,000-£60,000 per annum (dependant on experience)
Hours – Full time, permanent contract. Mon-Fri
We are currently recruiting for an EHS Supervisor, to be based at one of the client’s biggest sites in the North of England. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a well-known, globally based environmental consultancy. In this role, you will be required to supervise and lead the EHS programmes, which will include: combine site presence with strategic influence, work closely with plant leadership and central EHS functions to ensure regulatory compliance, drive continuous improvement, and embed a strong, proactive safety culture across the site.
Additional responsibilities include:
Always providing an excellent level of customer service, mainly in the assisting of insurance related queries and administrative policies.
Provide visible, hands-on EHS leadership through regular site presence, inspections, audits, and reviews
Ensure full compliance with UK environmental, health, and safety legislation
Lead and maintain site EHS management systems, including ISO 14001 certification
Develop and implement site-specific EHS strategies, objectives, and KPIs
Deliver engaging EHS training for employees, contractors, and leadership teams
Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
Manage environmental permits, water discharge consents, and regulatory reporting
Oversee waste management programs (hazardous and non-hazardous) and contractor compliance
Drive a proactive EHS culture through coaching, engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives
Monitor performance trends and recommend actions to reduce risk and improve compliance
Qualifications / Skills Required:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Management, Safety, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related discipline
5–10 years’ experience in an EHS, QHSE, or safety role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
Strong working knowledge of UK environmental and safety regulations (air, water, waste)
Proven experience delivering EHS training and influencing operational teams
Professional health & safety or environmental certification
Experience maintaining ISO management systems
Understanding of industrial processes and process safety
Strong data analysis, reporting, and auditing skills
