Treasury Accountant

I am currently recruiting for a Treasury Accountant. The role will be for 9 months and could pay up to £350 p/day. The role is hybrid and would require up to 2 days in the office per week. Main duties include:- To manage the Council's daily money market operations in accordance with agreed strategies and credit limits, and prepare the cash flow forecasts for the Council by gathering relevant information from both internal and external sources. Maintain a good working relationship with the money market via a panel of brokers and Liaise with the Council's Treasury Management Consultant. Contribute to the development of the Lending List and Credit Criteria, actively monitor changes to the counterparties' credit standing and update the lending list accordingly. Develop and monitor arrangements for determining the cash flow position on a daily and projected basis. Be proactive in identifying and developing new investment opportunities and be aware of the economic environment with a view to forecasting trends in interest rate movements and thereby identifying investment opportunities. Assist the Principal Accountant (Capital & Treasury Management) with the effective management of the Council's Debt portfolio.The ideal candidate needs to have worked within the treasury department of a local authority previously.
