Hemel Hempstead (Hybrid)
Salary - £28,000
We are recruiting on behalf of an established and growing organisation for an Order Management Specialist to join their Purchasing and Commercial Operations team in Hemel Hempstead.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, customer-focused professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has an interest in order management, purchasing, procurement or supply chain operations.
You will take ownership of orders throughout their lifecycle, working closely with Sales, Purchasing, Logistics, Customer Services, Finance and external suppliers to ensure orders are processed accurately, deliveries are managed effectively and customers receive a high level of service.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate order information, including supplier acknowledgements and back-order reports.
Process and manage a range of orders, including direct deliveries and software licensing orders.
Work collaboratively with internal departments and suppliers to resolve order queries and delivery issues.
Support the proactive management and resourcing of purchase orders.
Provide accurate and timely updates to internal and external customers.
Build strong relationships with suppliers and help improve delivery performance and ETA accuracy.
Monitor overdue orders and proactively expedite deliveries where required.
Identify potential supply chain risks and escalate issues appropriately.
Manage customer, supplier and internal inbox queries promptly and professionally.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and accuracy.
Assist with the coordination of larger or more complex customer orders.About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Previous experience in an operational role within a fast-paced business environment.
Experience or understanding of order processing, purchasing, supplier management or supply chain operations.
A strong customer-service mindset and the ability to manage expectations effectively.
Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A proactive approach to problem solving.
The ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines.
Strong relationship-building skills with colleagues, customers and suppliers.
A collaborative and supportive approach to teamwork.
Experience identifying improvements to processes or ways of working.
Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
