Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, high-quality English Language and Literature lessons that foster a lifelong love for reading, analysis, and communication.
Plan, prepare, and assess curriculum content in line with school and national GCSE standards.
Track student progress and implement effective interventions to support diverse literacy and analytical skills.
Contribute actively to the wider life of our independent school community, including creative writing clubs, school publications, or debating societies.
Maintain excellent classroom management and create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification.
A degree in English Literature, English Language, or a strongly related humanities discipline.
The ability to demonstrate excellent classroom practice or show outstanding potential (for ECTs).
A collaborative mindset and a commitment to continuous professional growth within an English faculty.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with pupils, parents, and colleagues alike.
