Setting Out Engineer

Job Title: Setting Out Engineer Location: Oxford Salary: £325/day 6 month contract Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Setting Out Engineer to join our team on a 6-month contract. This role focuses primarily on internal setting out and high-precision laser work using Leica equipment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accuracy, quality assurance, and smooth project delivery across a range of construction projects. Key Responsibilities Carry out internal setting out works to a high level of accuracy Operate and maintain Leica surveying and laser equipment Conduct detailed QA checks and ensure compliance with project specifications and tolerances Interpret drawings, models, and specifications to guide site works Mark out and spray lines/points clearly and accurately as required Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, and management to ensure alignment on project requirements Maintain clear and accurate records of setting out data and QA documentation Requirements Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer, ideally with a focus on internals Strong proficiency with Leica equipment and laser-based setting out methods Solid understanding of QA processes and documentation in construction Experience with spraying/marking out on site Background in construction or building projects preferred Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications High level of attention to detail and accuracy Strong communication and teamwork skills Desirable Experience working on large-scale or complex build projects Familiarity with digital setting out tools and software Relevant qualifications in surveying, engineering, or construction If you are a motivated Setting Out Engineer available for a 6-month contract with a strong focus on precision and quality, we would like to hear from you
