HGV HIAB Operative with Civils/Groundworks Duties Location: Northamptonshire & Surrounding Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum dependent on experience, competencies and qualifications Regular overtime opportunities available Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent About the Role We are looking to recruit experienced and reliable HGV HIAB Operatives with Civils/Groundworks duties to support a growing portfolio of highways infrastructure projects. This HGV HIAB Operative with Civils/Groundworks Duties role is based in Northamptonshire and will involve working across a range of highway and infrastructure schemes throughout the region. Projects include the installation of: Communications infrastructure Motorway gantries Traffic signals Variable Message Signs (VMS) Street lighting columns Steel poles and associated highway equipmentThis is a hands-on operational role where the successful HGV HIAB Operative with Civils/Groundworks Duties will split responsibilities between operating HGV HIAB/Grab vehicles and supporting civils and groundwork activities on site. We are ideally looking for candidates with highways, utilities, street lighting or civils experience who are comfortable working both on the tools and operating lifting equipment. Key Responsibilities As an HGV HIAB Operative with Civils/Groundworks Duties, will include: Operating HGV Class 2 HIAB and Grab vehicles safely and efficiently Lifting, moving and positioning materials, columns and highway infrastructure equipment Supporting highways civils and groundwork operations Carrying out excavation, reinstatement and ducting works Assisting with street lighting and traffic infrastructure installations Working safely within live highway and roadside environments Completing daily vehicle, plant and equipment inspections Working closely with supervisors and installation teams Following company health & safety procedures at all times Ensuring work is completed efficiently and to a high standardEssential Requirements Applicants should hold: HGV Class 2 Licence CPCS Lorry Loader (Hook & Clamshell) and/or ALLMI Lorry Loader (Hook & Clamshell)Desirable Qualifications The following would be advantageous for the HGV HIAB Operative with Civils/Groundworks Duties position: Slinger Signaller IPAF NRSWA / Street Works CSCS Card Street Lighting experience Highways or utilities civils background Grab wagon experience Experience working on motorway or trunk road projectsWhat We Offer Competitive salary package based on experience and qualifications Plenty of overtime opportunities Stable, long-term work pipeline Opportunity to work on major infrastructure projects Training and development opportunities Supportive and professional working environmentWorking Hours Typically 10-hour shifts Day works predominantly Occasional weekend and night works available depending on project requirementsIdeal Candidate The ideal HGV HIAB Operative with Civils/Groundworks Duties candidate will be an experienced operative with a strong civils or groundwork background who also holds HGV HIAB competencies.
