Your new role
This is far more than a traditional finance position.As a senior member of the finance team, you'll act as a trusted adviser to senior leaders, helping drive commercial thinking, financial performance and strategic decision-making across a wide ranging portfolio. You'll lead on financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting whilst managing a team of finance professionals and developing strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation. You'll have the opportunity to challenge, influence and support key initiatives to deliver long-term objectives and sustainable growth.
Key responsibilities will include:
Leading budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities
Providing insight and financial analysis to support strategic decisions
Managing and developing a team of finance professionals
Delivering high quality management and statutory financial reporting
Supporting large scale projects, transformation initiatives and service improvements
Working closely with senior stakeholders to drive financial performance
Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and efficiency
What you'll need to succeed
You'll be a qualified accountant or an experienced finance professional with a strong track record in financial management ideally within a public services/not for profit environment:
Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting expertise
Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering skills
Experience leading, mentoring or developing teams
The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance audiences
A proactive and solutions-focused approach
