10 hours/day | 10/4 rotation or 5/2 (Mon–Fri)

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Site Electrical Commissioning Engineer to support the delivery of major power plant projects in East Yorkshire or Bedfordshire.


This is a long‑term, site‑based commissioning role, suited to someone who thrives in technically demanding environments and enjoys taking ownership of electrical commissioning activities from installation through to handover.


You’ll be working closely with project management, engineering, OEMs and site teams to ensure systems are commissioned safely, compliantly and to specification.


Key Responsibilities

a) Lead and support electrical commissioning activities across power plant systems.

b) Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers and Contractors to develop commissioning plans, schedules and procedures.

c) Review design documentation and drawings for compliance with specifications, standards and codes.

d) Coordinate and execute functional and performance testing.

e) Identify, manage and resolve commissioning issues and defects.

f) Produce clear commissioning reports, records and punch lists.

g) Provide technical support during installation, testing and recommissioning.

h) Work closely with key stakeholders including:

  • Siemens
  • HSE
  • Top Administrator
  • LoTo Administrator

i) Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality and programme delivery.



Experience & Knowledge Required

  • Proven experience in electrical commissioning within power generation or heavy industrial environments.
  • Strong understanding of powertrain and Balance of Plant (BoP) systems.
  • Good knowledge of relevant codes, standards and regulations.
  • Confident diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multidisciplinary site teams.
  • Comfortable managing multiple activities in a fast‑paced site environment.
  • Competent using commissioning tools, test equipment and software.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) licence advantageous but not essential.
  • OSHA certification and strong awareness of HSE and environmental procedures desirable. xwzovoh
