The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced and proactive HSE Advisor to support operations across our Birkenhead site. Working closely with management, supervisors, operatives and our client, you will help drive a strong health, safety and environmental culture while ensuring compliance with company procedures, client standards and relevant legislation.
This is a hands-on role involving regular site engagement, inspections, audits, incident investigations and workforce coaching. You will play a key role in identifying risks, supporting safe systems of work and driving continuous improvement across scaffolding and industrial painting activities.
About You
You will be a confident communicator with the ability to influence and engage people at all levels. With a practical approach to problem-solving, you'll be passionate about promoting a positive safety culture and supporting operational teams to achieve high HSE standards.
Essential Requirements
* NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety
* Experience within construction, engineering, industrial services or project-based environments
* Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation
* Experience supporting risk management and safe systems of work
* Understanding of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Good IT skills and experience maintaining HSE records and reports
Desirable
* NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 5 qualification
* Tech IOSH, Grad IOSH or Chartered IOSH membership
* IEMA qualification or working towards membership
* Experience in regulated industries such as defence, nuclear, energy or construction
* Knowledge of CDM Regulations
* Experience supporting engineering or project delivery teams
* Previous experience delivering inductions, toolbox talks or safety training
