This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for driving efficient transport operations in a fast-paced environment.

The company operates a large HGV fleet of approximately 100 vehicles , where the successful candidate will hold full responsibility for the Operator Licence (O Licence) and overall transport compliance .

Key Responsibilities Oversee the daily transport operations , ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods Manage HGV fleet operations , including vehicle maintenance schedules and driver performance Ensure full compliance with DVSA regulations, transport legislation, and safety standards Plan and optimise transport routes and fleet utilisation to improve efficiency and reduce costs Monitor budgets, fuel usage, and operational spend Lead, train, and support drivers and transport staff Maintain accurate transport records, compliance documentation, and reporting Handle operational issues, delays, and customer concerns in a professional manner Key Requirements Previous experience in a Transport Manager / Logistics Manager / Fleet Manager role Strong knowledge of transport legislation, compliance, and Operator Licence obligations Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills Effective leadership and communication abilities Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple operational priorities Proficiency in Transport Management Systems (TMS) and general IT systems Transport Manager CPC Certification (Essential) Salary & Benefits Salary: £45,000 £55,000 (DOE) Monday to Friday | 40 hours per week Office hours (circa) 28 days holiday Company pension scheme To Note: Should you have not heard back within 14 days, please assume that you have been unsuccessful TLP Recruitment acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
