London, City and County of the City of London

About the role
We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure & Azure Specialist to take ownership of a complex hybrid technology environment spanning Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, endpoint management and traditional on-premises infrastructure.
This is not a pure Azure cloud role. You will need strong, hands-on Azure experience, but you must also be comfortable managing Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualisation, storage, backup and end user computing platforms.
Working closely with the Head of IT Infrastructure, you will help maintain the security, availability and performance of the infrastructure estate while supporting cloud migration, technology refresh, security uplift and business growth projects.
Key responsibilities
Manage and improve a hybrid estate spanning Azure, Microsoft 365 and on-premises infrastructure.
Administer Azure compute, storage, networking and Entra ID.
Support Windows Server, Active Directory and VMware or Hyper-V environments.
Manage endpoint provisioning, compliance and patching through Microsoft Intune.
Administer Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive.
Maintain backup, disaster recovery and business-continuity capabilities.
Own escalated infrastructure incidents through to resolution and root-cause analysis.
Address vulnerabilities, patching requirements, access controls and infrastructure hardening.
Deliver infrastructure refresh, migration and security-improvement projects.
Support distributed IT teams across a multi-site organisation.
Maintain accurate technical documentation, asset records and configuration information.
Experience Required
Strong, production-level Microsoft Azure infrastructure experience.
Broad knowledge of both cloud and traditional on-premises infrastructure.
Hands-on experience with Azure virtual machines, storage, networking and Entra ID.
Strong Microsoft 365 administration experience.
Experience managing devices at scale through Microsoft Intune.
Good knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory and virtualisation.
Experience with backup, disaster recovery and tested recovery procedures.
Strong incident-management, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities.
An organised approach to documentation, change control and ITSM processes.
Confidence working with senior stakeholders and geographically distributed IT teams.
Microsoft certifications such as AZ-104, MS-102 or SC-300 would be beneficial, as would experience in a multi-site, international or high growth organisation.
This role would suit a senior infrastructure professional who has developed strong Azure capability but still enjoys taking ownership of the wider technology estate. You will play an important role in keeping both cloud and on-premises platforms secure, resilient and ready to support continued business growth.
