Project Engineer

Project Engineer - Cambridge An innovative technology company based in Cambridge is looking for a hands-on and versatile Project Engineer to support the development of advanced imaging and inspection systems used across a range of high-tech industries. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative engineering environment, working on cutting-edge products alongside multidisciplinary teams across mechanical, electrical, software and scientific disciplines. The Role As a Project Engineer, you will support the Project Leader in the design, development and improvement of new and existing products. The role will involve a combination of design, prototyping, testing, documentation and customer-focused engineering support. Key responsibilities include: Identifying and scoping product improvements and new features based on customer feedback and internal development requirements Working closely with Mechanical, Electrical and Software Engineers, as well as Scientists and Applications teams, to design, prototype, test and evaluate components and sub-assemblies Producing and maintaining project documentation in line with internal development procedures Creating and managing project plans, milestones and deliverables Liaising with manufacturing teams and suppliers to define requirements and develop solutions Managing engineering documentation including work instructions and bills of materials Developing Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) protocols for new products Supporting product commissioning, packing and shipping activities Assisting with specialist device builds where required Providing occasional global site support and customer visits Supporting the Project Leader across wider project activities The Technology The company develops advanced imaging and inspection systems used in a range of rapidly growing industries.
