£250–£280 Daily (Umbrella)

We are currently recruiting an experienced SEND Casework Officer to join a Local Authority team, managing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a designated caseload of children and young people with EHCPs.
Coordinate Annual Reviews, Phase Transfers and cases involving children moving into or out of the Local Authority.
Monitor EHCP provision and ensure statutory deadlines are met.
Manage complex casework, including EOTAS and Elective Home Education cases.
Prepare and amend EHCPs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements.
Prepare reports and evidence for decision-making panels, mediation and SEND Tribunal proceedings.
Liaise with families, schools, health and social care professionals and other key stakeholders.
Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with Local Authority policies and procedures.
Support quality assurance and contribute to effective SEND service delivery.
Essential Requirements

Previous experience in SEND or EHCP casework, ideally within a Local Authority.
Strong knowledge of statutory EHCP processes and relevant legislation.
Experience managing a complex caseload and working to statutory deadlines.
Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
Experience with mediation or SEND Tribunal processes would be advantageous.
