Operations Director / Senior Operations Manager Commercial Gas & Mechanical Services Location: Leicester / East Midlands Salary: £60,000 – £65,000 basic + bonus (OTE circa £80,000) Package: Company vehicle, private healthcare, bonus structure The Opportunity A well-established commercial gas and mechanical services business is seeking an experienced Operations Director / Senior Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operational running of the company. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role suited to someone who has progressed through the commercial gas sector into operational leadership. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting engineers, clients and office teams to ensure works are delivered efficiently, commercially and to a high technical standard. The business delivers planned and reactive maintenance, remedial works and plant room projects across sectors including schools, academy trusts, hotels, care homes and commercial premises. The Role As Operations Director / Senior Operations Manager, you will oversee the operational side of the business and act as the main point of contact for technical, client-facing and delivery-related matters. Key responsibilities include: * Overseeing the day-to-day operational running of the business * Coordinating engineers and supporting smooth delivery of works * Managing escalations, site issues and client concerns * Supporting larger quotes, technical enquiries and complex opportunities * Providing technical guidance around commercial gas systems and plant rooms * Attending site when required to assess and resolve operational issues * Supporting customer service, client retention and account management * Managing engineers and operational staff * Ensuring works are priced, planned and delivered correctly * Supporting planned preventative and reactive maintenance works * Overseeing remedial works and small project opportunities The Candidate The ideal candidate will have: * A background in Commercial Gas Engineering * Experience in senior operations, contracts, service or technical management * Strong knowledge of commercial plant rooms * Experience across commercial environments such as schools, hotels, care homes or similar sectors * Strong understanding of planned and reactive maintenance * Experience supporting quotes, estimates and technical enquiries * Excellent client-facing and leadership skills * Experience managing engineers and operational teams * A practical, hands-on approach to leadership * Good commercial awareness and attention to detail Package * £60,000 – £65,000 basic salary * Bonus structure with OTE circa £80,000 * Company vehicle * Private healthcare * Private dental care * Senior leadership role with direct influence over operations
