About the role
A well-established engineering and manufacturing business in the Bristol area is seeking an experienced Fabricator to join its growing workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a busy fabrication environment, producing high-quality metal components and assemblies for a range of industrial applications.
The successful candidate will be involved in the complete fabrication process, from measuring and cutting materials through to welding, fitting, and final assembly.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out full sheet metal fabrication activities including measuring, cutting, folding, fitting, and welding.
- Fabricate sheet steel and sections ranging from 1mm to 10mm thickness.
- Operate fabrication equipment including guillotines and press brakes.
- Produce metal components and assemblies to engineering specifications.
- Perform manual cutting using plasma and flame-cutting methods.
- Repair, modify, and fabricate replacement parts where required.
- Use handheld and powered tools safely and effectively.
- Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and workmanship throughout production.
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in a Fabricator, Sheet Metal Worker, or Fabricator Welder role.
- Strong sheet metal fabrication experience.
- Ability to accurately measure and work from technical drawings and specifications.
- Good MIG welding experience.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Reliable with strong communication and teamwork skills.
- CNC machine operating experience would be advantageous.
