SEMH Teaching Assistant – Sleaford
Temporary basis with a view to extend to full-time | September Start | GSL Education
GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to work in schools across the Sleaford area from September. This is a full-time role, ideal for candidates who are passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs.
The successful candidate will be confident working with students of all ages who may display challenging behaviours and require additional support relating to SEN and SEMH needs.
The Role:
Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
Assisting pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs
Helping to create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment
Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff
Encouraging engagement, confidence and emotional regulation
Requirements:
Previous experience in Care, Support Work, Youth Work or a similar setting
Experience supporting children or young people with SEN/SEMH difficulties
Relevant qualifications are desirable
A calm, patient and adaptable approach
Ability to build positive relationships and manage challenging behaviours effectively
Full-time availability from September
