About the role
We are looking for warm, caring people to join Westmeads, our extra care service in Royston, Barnsley. You'll provide personalised care and support that helps older residents stay independent, active and connected to their community.
In this rewarding role, you'll offer dignified personal care, emotional support and help with daily living, including meals, hydration, household tasks and safe medication support. You'll encourage residents to take part in activities, maintain relationships and enjoy a fulfilling, independent lifestyle. You'll respond to changing needs, support wellbeing and work positively with families, health professionals and housing partners to ensure each person receives coordinated, person-centred care.
Experience is helpful but not essential - we provide full training. What matters most is compassion, reliability and a strong sense of responsibility. You'll need good communication skills, the ability to record information clearly, and the physical capability to support people with moving and positioning. Shifts include mornings, afternoons, evenings and waking nights, and flexibility is expected to meet the needs of the service.
Full-time roles are 37.5 hours per week; part-time roles start from 15 hours. All hours are worked flexibly on a rota including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
