Vehicle Maintenance Technician Location: Plymouth - On‑Site Workshop OTE: circa £57,871 £5,000 Sign‑On Bonus | Industry‑Leading Training | Secure, Long‑Term Career We are recruiting on behalf of a major UK operator for a Vehicle Maintenance Technician to join their Plymouth-based on‑site workshop. This is a technically rewarding role where your expertise directly supports a safety‑critical fleet that serves homes and businesses across the UK all year round. What You'll Be Doing As a Vehicle Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in fleet reliability and safety. Your responsibilities will include: Carrying out routine servicing, inspections, and repairs on heavy vehicles and trailers Diagnosing faults using strong technical knowledge and a safety‑first approach Maintaining workshop tools and equipment to a high professional standard Supporting fleet compliance and safety through quality workmanship Working a rotating shift pattern (early and late), with overtime and on‑call opportunities Participating in specialist training programmes to grow your skills and qualifications What We're Looking For You will ideally bring: Qualifications in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent hands‑on experience Good knowledge of vehicle systems, trailers, and workshop practices Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic capability A safety‑conscious, methodical approach to work Clear communication and good organisational skills Desirable (but not essential): HGV Category C licence ADR certification Full training will be provided where required What's On Offer This role comes with a strong rewards package designed to recognise your skills and commitment: On‑target earnings of circa £57,871 (salary, overtime, and bonuses combined) £5,000 sign‑on bonus, paid after 3 months £2,000 annual bonus Comprehensive private medical insurance, including family cover 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to purchase additional leave Pension scheme with matched employer contributions Life assurance and income protection On‑site parking and access to retail discount schemes Industry‑leading training and qualifications, including LPG, IRTEC, and HGV licensing Why Join Our Client?
