Teaching Assistant - Tower Hamlets (KS1 Intervention)
Location: Tower Hamlets (near Bethnal Green / Cambridge Heath)
Start Date: 11th May 2026
Contract: Full-time | Summer Term (with potential extension)
Pay: £95-£110 per day

The Role & School
A well-established and community-focused primary school in the Bethnal Green area is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support KS1 pupils from 11th May 2026.
This role is centred around intervention support, working with small groups of pupils in Year 1 and Year 2 who need additional help with phonics, early reading and basic numeracy. You will play a key role in helping pupils close learning gaps and build confidence ahead of key assessments.
The school has a strong emphasis on early literacy and structured routines, with a supportive leadership team and a collaborative KS1 staff. Support staff are fully integrated into teaching and intervention planning.
Key Responsibilities
Delivering small group interventions in phonics and early maths
Supporting pupils during KS1 lessons
Reinforcing learning through targeted activities
Monitoring pupil progress and feeding back to teachers
Promoting positive behaviour and engagement
The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant who:
Has experience working in a primary school
Is confident supporting KS1, particularly phonics
Can lead small group interventions
Is patient, proactive and organised
Builds strong relationships with pupils and staffGraduates or aspiring teachers are encouraged to apply.
