Civil Engineer (Rail Drainage)
Location: Basingstoke, Slough, and Home
Salary: Dependent on relevant experience
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, with a 1-hour lunch break)
Work Location: Hybrid (Office-based in Basingstoke and Slough, with home working flexibility)
Full-time / Permanent OR Contract (Outside IR35)
Remarkable Jobs are recruiting for a Civil Engineer (Rail) to join a growing team working on a variety of exciting rail infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to major transport developments while benefiting from hybrid working arrangements.
As a Civil Engineer (Rail Drainage), you will be involved in the design, planning, and execution of rail projects, covering areas such as track drainage, embankment stabilisation, culverts, and temporary works. This role requires a strong design background and the ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities of the Civil Engineer (Rail):
Project Support: Assist in managing rail infrastructure projects from inception to completion, ensuring quality, timelines, and budgets are met.
Design Work: Carry out detailed civil engineering design, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including structural engineers, contractors, and environmental specialists.
Quality Assurance: Maintain high engineering standards and ensure all project deliverables meet safety regulations and industry standards.
Innovation: Stay updated with advancements in rail engineering and contribute ideas to improve efficiency and sustainability.
What We're Looking For:
A Civil Engineer (Rail) with a minimum of 2 years of experience in civil engineering, specifically within the rail sector.
Design experience is essential - candidates must have a strong background in civil engineering design.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required, with MicroStation experience being an advantage.
Chartered and non-chartered applications are accepted.
Must have full UK working rights.
Must hold a valid UK driving licence and own a car for site visits.
