Facilities Caretaker

About the Role We are currently recruiting reliable and proactive Bank Caretakers to support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of school sites across Sheffield. This is a flexible, as-needed role ideal for individuals seeking work that can fit around other commitments while contributing to the smooth running of educational environments. Key Responsibilities Carry out routine site inspections to ensure the premises remain safe, secure, and well-maintained Undertake basic maintenance and repair tasks across school buildings and grounds Ensure school facilities are clean, tidy, and ready for daily use Open and secure school premises as required Monitor and report maintenance issues, hazards, or security concerns to the appropriate supervisor Assist with room setups, furniture movement, and preparation for school events and activities Maintain external areas including pathways, entrances, and outdoor spaces Follow all health and safety procedures and site-specific regulations Requirements Previous caretaker, facilities, maintenance, or site support experience preferred but not essential Ability to carry out basic maintenance and practical tasks safely and effectively Strong awareness of health and safety practices Ability to work independently and as part of a team Reliable, punctual, and flexible approach to work Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) What We Offer Flexible working hours to suit your availability Opportunities to work across multiple school locations Supportive team environment Ongoing work on a bank basis Opportunity to gain experience within educational settings Competitive rates of pay
