About the Role We are seeking a motivated and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dynamic secondary school. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across a range of subjects and year groups, helping students to achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teaching staff, deliver lessons in the absence of a teacher, and provide targeted academic support to individuals and small groups. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver learning activities to individuals, small groups, or whole classes.
- Cover lessons in the short-term absence of teaching staff.
- Support students of varying abilities, including those with additional learning needs.
- Work alongside teachers to adapt resources and implement strategies to support progress.
- Monitor and report on student progress and attainment.
- Support behaviour management in line with school policy.
- Contribute to intervention programmes to raise achievement.
- Assist in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- HLTA status or relevant qualifications/experience.
- Experience working within a secondary school setting.
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
- Confidence in leading whole-class learning.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- A commitment to supporting student achievement and wellbeing.
