Estimator 📍 South Yorkshire (Hybrid / Site Travel as Required) 💰 Competitive Day Rate (CIS Engagement) 📅 Contract Role The Opportunity We're working with a leading renewable energy contractor delivering utility-scale solar PV projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Solar Estimator to support bidding and pre-construction activities. This role sits at the heart of the business, working across commercial, engineering, procurement and delivery teams to produce accurate, competitive and profitable project estimates. The Role As a Solar Estimator, you will be responsible for building detailed cost estimates and supporting tender submissions across a portfolio of solar PV projects. Key responsibilities include: Preparing detailed EPC cost estimates for utility-scale solar projects Reviewing tender documents, RFPs and technical specifications Carrying out quantity take-offs from drawings (civil, electrical and structural) Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor pricing Building and maintaining cost models and pricing databases Identifying risks and applying appropriate contingencies Supporting bid submissions and commercial proposals Contributing to value engineering and cost optimisation strategies What We're Looking For Experience estimating for solar PV projects (utility-scale preferred) Strong understanding of EPC project delivery Background in electrical, civil, or quantity surveying disciplines Proven ability to build detailed cost models in Excel Experience working with suppliers and subcontractors Strong commercial awareness and risk understandingDesirable: Familiarity with AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope or similar tools Experience working on projects 10MW+ Engagement This role is offered on a CIS basis (Construction Industry Scheme). 👉 Please note: this is not an outside IR35 / limited company engagement.
