DT Technician

Design & Technology Technician (Resistant Materials) Haringey, North London £120 - £150 per day | Full-Time | Long-Term Role | ASAP Start Design & Technology Technician – Resistant Materials & Woodwork A well-established Secondary School in Haringey is seeking an experienced and reliable Design & Technology Technician to join their DT department on a long-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician with experience supporting Resistant Materials, Woodwork, and workshop machinery within an educational setting. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting teaching staff, maintaining workshop equipment, preparing materials for lessons, and ensuring a safe and productive learning environment for students. What You'll Be Doing * Preparing materials, tools, and equipment for practical DT lessons. * Supporting the delivery of Resistant Materials and Woodwork projects across KS3 and KS4. * Maintaining, servicing, and organising workshop machinery and equipment. * Carrying out routine safety checks and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations. * Managing stock levels and ordering materials when required. * Assisting teachers during practical lessons where necessary. * Ensuring all machinery and equipment are used safely and appropriately. * Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment. * Supporting risk assessments and departmental safety procedures. * Providing technical support across the DT department. What We're Looking For * Previous experience working as a DT Technician, Workshop Technician, or similar role. * Strong knowledge of Resistant Materials, Woodwork, and workshop machinery. * Experience operating and maintaining woodworking machinery safely. * Relevant machinery, workshop, or health and safety qualifications/certificates. * Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
