Sound Technician
About the role
We are a full-service technical solutions provider to the live event industry.
We are a single source for all disciplines of audio, lighting, vision, scenic, power and content.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing, configuring and operating professional audio systems for live events.
Working with Project Managers to specify suitable audio solutions for events when required.
Managing digital audio, networked systems, wireless microphones, recording, streaming and hybrid audio requirements.
Deploying and optimising PA systems to achieve reliable coverage and speech intelligibility.
Troubleshooting technical issues and maintaining a high standard of preparation and delivery.
Liaising with clients, venues and other technical departments throughout an event.
Working with the Warehouse and Hire teams to improve audio standards, equipment preparation and technical processes.
Sharing knowledge and supporting the development of less experienced technicians.
Contributing practical experience and technical knowledge to the future development of audio systems and equipment.
Supporting other departments when sound duties are complete.The successful candidate will be an experienced Sound Technician with proven experience delivering technically demanding live events, with corporate conferences and events being the primary focus.
Essential Skills
Proven experience delivering technically demanding corporate and live events, including large conferences, multi-room events, awards and hybrid productions.
Strong experience operating professional analogue and digital audio systems, including mixing consoles, show files, routing and system configuration.
Strong practical knowledge of networked audio, wireless microphone systems and RF coordination.
Good understanding of PA system design, processing, coverage, room acoustics and speech intelligibility.
Experience managing audio for recording, streaming, hybrid events and integration with wider show systems.Desirable
Experience with professional system-design, control and RF-coordination software.
Experience with additional digital mixing platforms and networked audio systems.
Relevant manufacturer, Dante or professional audio training and certification.
IPAF / PASMA or other access equipment qualifications.
Practical knowledge of temporary power distribution and electrical safety within live events.
Experience mixing live music or entertainment as part of corporate and awards events.
Full UK driving licence.
Although much of the time we aim to work standard office hours, the live event industry isn't your typical day job and offers a vibrant, fast-paced and rewarding working environment.
The ideal candidate for this role will understand that this comes with the need for flexibility in terms of the working week, including evenings, weekends, overnight stays and travel, dependent on project requirements and business needs.
