Social Worker - Safeguarding & Assessment Team (SAS)

Location: Hartlepool

Pay Rate: £35.68 per hour (Umbrella)

Contract Type: Full-time (37 hours per week), Ongoing locum assignment

Working Model: Hybrid (Office-based in Hartlepool with home working and home visits)

Role Overview

An experienced and decisive Qualified Social Worker is required to join a high-performing Safeguarding and Assessment Team (SAS) in Hartlepool.

Operating at the front door of statutory children's services, you will be responsible for completing timely, high-quality Child and Family Assessments, managing initial safeguarding enquiries, and determining appropriate interventions for vulnerable children and their families. This role requires a confident practitioner who can manage initial risks effectively, make sound decisions under pressure, and drive positive outcomes from the outset.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct robust, analytical Child and Family Assessments in line with statutory timescales.

• Lead Section 47 child protection enquiries and undertake immediate risk assessments where complex safeguarding concerns arise.
