Computer Studies Teacher Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging Computer Studies lessons in line with the national curriculum Teach computing and digital literacy across Key Stages 3, 4 & 5 Develop students’ understanding of programming, computational thinking, and technology Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils Maintain positive classroom behaviour and high expectations for learning Support students’ academic achievement and personal development Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum enhancement Requirements of a Computer Studies Teacher: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent A degree in Computer Science, Computing, IT, or a related subject Experience teaching Computer Studies in a school setting is desirable Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities A professional and proactive approach to teaching An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or completing a new application.
