Private Client – Senior Associate/Legal Director

We have an exclusive and confidential mandate to actively seek an experienced private client Lawyer to join the highly regarded private client team of a long-established, full-service London law firm.This is a key, strategic appointment within a well-established and growing team, and for this specific role offering exposure to a broad range of sophisticated, high-value and mainly domestic private client work. There may be the opportunity to also work on cross-border/international work.The firm enjoys an excellent reputation for private client work and has built a loyal client base over many years. The culture is collaborative, supportive and Partner-led, with genuine progression opportunities for ambitious Lawyers who are looking to establish themselves for the long term.The successful candidate will work alongside leading, experienced Partners and other senior and junior Lawyers in a collaborative, supportive environment, with genuine opportunities for progression.This role will involve advising high and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families and trustees on a wide range of complex private client matters, with a particular emphasis on UK-based work, including:Complex estate administrationWills and succession planningTrust creation, administration and taxationInheritance tax and wider private client tax planningCourt of Protection and related advisory workThe successful candidate will also supervise junior Lawyers, play an active role in developing the practice and, for those interested, have the opportunity to take on wider management responsibilities as part of a clear long-term career path.Candidates at Senior Associate or Legal Director level are encouraged to apply. We will also consider strong applicants at Associate level for a similar or higher status.Applications are welcomed from Lawyers who have:7 -12+ years’ PQE (exceptional candidates with 5+ years’ PQE will also be considered)Strong technical private client experience, including in domestic estate administrationThe ability to manage complex matters with relatively minimal supervisionSome experience supervising and mentoring junior LawyersA genuine interest in building a long-term career within a stable, collegiate firmYou will also, ideally, have STEP qualification and/or ATT/CTA qualification (or active progress towards qualification).This role offers a competitive remuneration package including a comprehensive benefits package.
