Mentoring Assistant / Youth Mentor

Location: Leyland, Lancashire (PR25)1`

Salary: £25,500 per annum

Contract: Temporary to Permanent | Full-Time

The Role: Why This Mentor Position is Unique

As a Youth Mentor, you will go beyond standard classroom support. You will be the bridge between a student's emotional wellbeing and their academic success. Based in Leyland, you will work with students who have faced barriers to learning, providing them with the tools to succeed.

• 1:1 Mentoring: Deliver bespoke emotional and social interventions.
• Behavior Support: Use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging situations safely.
• Progress Tracking: Help students meet targets within their EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan).
• Community Impact: Work in a local Leyland school that priorities student mental health.

Key Requirements

To be successful in this Mentor role, you should have:

• Experience: Previous work as a Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker, Sports Coach, or Support Worker is highly valued.
• Location: Ability to commute to Leyland (PR25) daily.
• Qualities: High emotional intelligence, patience, and a "thick skin."
• DBS: An enhanced DBS check is required (we can assist with this if needed).
