About the role
Meridian Business Support are seeking a proactive and organised Logistics Support Co-ordinator to support the smooth operation of our clients Distribution Centre based in Stafford.
Role Overview
You will support the day-to-day running of the distribution centre, helping to supervise the team, maintain high standards, and ensure all operational targets are met. You’ll play an important role in supporting health & safety compliance, training, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in planning, co-ordinate and monitor the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.
Ensure orders are processed efficiently and that the delivery of materials meets customers timescales/requirements.
Supervise and control order picking, goods in, goods out operations to ensure accuracy with minimum handling and stock damage.
Organise, facilitate, and manage stock takes at regular intervals.
Ensure that all relevant procedures and processes are followed and adhered to in line with the Company’s procedures and requirements.
Deliver the product to the customer on time, every time using appropriate methods.
Ensure that internal delivery processes are adhered to support dispatch time windows.
Identify errors and eliminate root cause using robust countermeasures.
Sustain the corrective actions to eliminate repeat issues.
Deliver efficiency's to support year on year operational budget reduction.
Monitor and review operational methods to facilitate both qualitative and quantitative improvements within the operation whilst ensuring continuous customer service.
Control of Forklift Truck management to ensure full operational capacity and achieve daily targets.
Oversee any planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
Ensure security of Warehouse environment and maintain access control, ensuring 5S housekeeping standards are always maintained.
Monitor and maintain stock accuracy by ensuring the physical stock is in line with the warehouse management system and ensure all stock movements are recorded to ensure accuracy.
Monitor stock levels to highlight minimum and excess levels and therefore prevent part shortages.Measurement of Effectiveness
Assist in building a strong team culture and philosophy, working collaboratively to achieve company targets and objectives.
Support the warehouse supervisor and team with any day to day warehouse duties.
Demonstrate strong understanding of customer deliverys and the impact of service failure or poor quality.
Apply strong analytic and problem solving skills to develop practical and effective solutions.Added Skills & Attributes:
Excellent communication skills
Competent IT skills with good numerical ability, using word, excel, PowerPoint, SAP, Teams.
Able to multitask effectively
Able to perform well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
Hours of work and salary details:
Monday - Thursday 9.30am - 3.30pm, Friday 9.30am - 1pm.
£14.50 - £15.00 per hour DOE
