Contract typePermanentSalaryNegotiableReferenceBBBH Location:LondonI am currently working with a premier, international law firm specialising in corporate finance and cross-border transactions to recruit into their London based finance team. Due to continued organisational growth and expansion across our global offices, they are seeking a highly motivated and technically strong Financial Accountant.The role you will take ownership of core financial accounting processes, multi-currency reporting, VAT and statutory compliance. This position represents an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious, newly/recently qualified accountant looking to transition from practice or step up within a dynamic professional services environment.Responsibilities include:Lead the end-to-end preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under IFRS across international entities.Perform month-end close procedures, including revenue recognition review, journal entries, variance analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations.Partner with the FP&A team to provide detailed cost analysis, commentary, and insight into financial performance for senior management and equity partners.Serve as an internal subject matter expert on complex IFRS technical accounting standards (including IFRS 15 and IFRS 16).Prepare draft statutory financial statements and coordinate key audit deliverables with external auditors during year-end processes.Ensure robust internal financial controls are maintained, continually refining processes to enhance quality, speed, and accuracy.Manage local and cross-border VAT compliance, ensuring accurate quarterly VAT return preparation, submission, and reconciliations across operational jurisdictions.Collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with relevant international indirect tax regulations, partial exemption calculations, and partnership tax requirements.The ideal candidate will be qualified - ACA (ideally trained within a reputable Audit function in Big 4 / Top 20 firm) OR ACCA (with proven financial accounting experience in industry). Candidates must have strong technical grounding in IFRS and statutory financial statement preparation as well as practical knowledge of VAT compliance and reporting.
