About the role

Birmingham Temp – Perm £35,000 DOE 37.5 hours a week (early finish Friday) We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join their team in Birmingham on a temporary-to-permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an IOSH-qualified Health & Safety professional with several years of experience to take responsibility for maintaining compliance, driving continuous improvement, and promoting a positive health and safety culture across the business. Key Responsibilities • Advise management and employees on all health and safety matters. • Ensure compliance with current UK health and safety legislation and industry best practices. • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments. • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, producing detailed reports and recommendations. • Develop, review, and update health and safety policies, procedures, and documentation. • Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, and employee training where required. • Monitor and maintain health and safety records and compliance documentation. • Liaise with external agencies, auditors, and regulatory bodies. • Support managers in implementing corrective and preventative actions. • Promote a strong health and safety culture throughout the organisation. Requirements Essential • IOSH qualification (Managing Safely, Technical Membership, or higher). • Several years' experience within a Health & Safety Advisor or similar role. • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation. • Experience conducting risk assessments, audits, and accident investigations. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Strong organisational and report-writing abilities. • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Desirable • NEBOSH qualification. • Experience within manufacturing, engineering, construction, logistics, or industrial environments. • Internal auditing experience.
