The consultant will work closely with the Executive Team, senior property leaders and the Board to establish the current position across all key areas of statutory compliance, identify any gaps in assurance and develop a clear, risk-based improvement plan.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Reviewing compliance arrangements across gas, electrical, fire, asbestos, water hygiene, lifts and building safety
• Testing the accuracy, completeness and reliability of property compliance data
• Assessing policies, procedures, governance and internal controls
• Reviewing overdue actions, certification gaps and areas of potential regulatory exposure
• Evaluating contractor performance and existing contract management arrangements
• Developing a prioritised compliance remediation and improvement plan
• Strengthening Executive and Board-level reporting
• Providing clear assurance around organisational risk and regulatory readiness
• Supporting the development of a sustainable property compliance framework
The successful consultant will have operated at Head of Service, Assistant Director or Director level within social housing and will have significant experience leading property compliance, building safety or assurance programmes.
