An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading international Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering contractor on a major Data Centre project.
Our client delivers innovative engineering solutions across a range of sectors including Energy, Power & Renewables, Pharmaceuticals, Food & Beverage, and Data Centres. With more than 40 years of industry experience, they provide high-quality contracting solutions using in-house, flexible resources to deliver a consistent, customer-focused service. The company is currently experiencing significant growth and is delivering large-scale projects across the UK and Europe.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of the commercial and contractual aspects of the project throughout its lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing the commercial and contractual requirements of the project from start to completion.
Acting as the commercial interface with the client and contract team.
Managing project procurement, including subcontractor packages.
Conducting cost and risk analysis.
Reviewing contractual correspondence from clients, design teams and subcontractors, identifying key commercial issues and preparing responses.
Managing the commercial performance of subcontractors.
Producing project costing, margin and cashflow reports.
Managing change order procedures and negotiating costs with the client.
About You
To be considered, you should have:
A degree (or equivalent third-level qualification) in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics.
A minimum of 3 years' experience working as a Project Quantity Surveyor.
Previous experience within the mechanical and/or electrical contracting sector.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail.
The ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
A collaborative approach and the ability to work within a high-performing team.
