MERITUS are recruiting for 5x Skilled Aircraft Fitters to join our client in the aerospace industry on an initial period of 12 months with very likely extensions and possibility of permanent roles thereafter.

MERITUS are recruiting for a number of Skilled Aircraft Fitters to join a leading aerospace and defence manufacturer at their site in Filton.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a world-class production environment, supporting the assembly and manufacture of advanced aerospace structures and aircraft components. You'll join an experienced production team responsible for delivering high-quality engineering solutions on some of the industry's most innovative programmes.
If you have a recognised engineering apprenticeship and experience working in aerospace, aviation, manufacturing, or a similar engineering environment, we'd like to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret and work from engineering drawings, technical instructions, and manufacturing specifications.
Carry out aircraft fitting and assembly activities to required quality and safety standards.
Use a range of hand tools and power tools for drilling, fitting, shimming, sealing, and assembly operations.
Complete work accurately and efficiently in line with production schedules.
Support inspection and certification activities where required following successful training and authorisation.
Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and quality procedures.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the production environment.
Work both independently and collaboratively as part of a wider manufacturing team.
About You
Essential Requirements
Completed Aerospace or Engineering Apprenticeship.
Recognised engineering qualification such as:
City & Guilds Level 2 or above
NVQ Level 2/3
BTEC ONC/OND
Modern Apprenticeship Certificate
Equivalent engineering qualification
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Experience using hand tools and power tools within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Strong awareness of health and safety requirements.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Self-motivated with a positive and proactive attitude.
Additional Information
The role may involve working within confined spaces and restricted access areas as part of assembly operations.
Successful candidates may have the opportunity to gain additional certifications and approvals through on-site training programmes
