School Caretaker Sunderland Full Time, 36 Hours per Week ASAP Start Long-Term Temporary Role with Potential to Become Permanent We are currently recruiting for a School Caretaker to join a welcoming school in Sunderland on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and reliable caretaker looking for a long-term temporary position, with the potential to secure a permanent role. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the school premises are safe, secure, clean, and well-maintained for pupils, staff, and visitors. Key Responsibilities Opening and securing the school site Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs Ensuring the school grounds and buildings are well maintained Conducting routine health and safety checks Monitoring and reporting maintenance issues Supporting contractors working on site Assisting with room setups and school events when required Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and safeguarding proceduresThe Ideal Candidate Will Have Previous experience in a caretaker, site assistant, facilities, or maintenance role Good practical DIY and maintenance skills Knowledge of health and safety procedures A proactive and hands-on approach to work Strong organisational and communication skills Previous experience within a school environment is desirable but not essentialEssential Requirements Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service Ability to start immediately Right to work in the UK What We Offer Competitive weekly pay Full-time, 36-hour working week Long-term temporary assignment with potential for a permanent contract Ongoing support throughout your placement Opportunity to work within a supportive school environmentThe school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
