Area Sales Engineer

AA Jones, Hull’s leading independent electrical wholesaler, is seeking an ambitious and customer-focused Area Sales Engineer to drive growth across Hull and the East Riding.

The Role

Reporting directly to the sales management team, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing relationships with existing customers while identifying and securing new business opportunities throughout the region.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing and growing an established customer base

Identifying and developing new business opportunities

Providing technical support and product recommendations

Promoting industrial automation and control solutions

Preparing quotations and following up sales opportunities

Achieving agreed sales and margin targets

Working closely with suppliers and internal sales teams

Maintaining a high level of customer service and professional account management

About You

You will have either a proven track record in industrial sales or practical hands-on experience within an industrial or engineering environment.

Knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous:

Industrial Automation

PLCs and HMI Systems

Variable Speed Drives

Motor Control Equipment

Industrial Control Gear

Sensors and Instrumentation

Process Control

Electrical Distribution

Control Panel Components

Industrial Networking

You should also be:

Self-motivated and results-driven

Commercially aware with strong negotiation skills

Confident communicating with customers at all levels

Organised and capable of managing your own territory

Passionate about delivering first-class customer service
