Procurement Buyer

This is an excellent opportunity for a purchasing professional to join an established procurement team, managing the purchase of fresh raw materials while supporting supplier relationships, pricing and continuity of supply.

Key Responsibilities Procure fresh produce and raw materials for the production environment.

Manage Purchase Orders, stock records and traceability requirements.

Liaise with growers and suppliers, managing orders, quality issues and delivery requirements.

Negotiate supplier pricing and commercial terms.

Monitor market conditions, raw material pricing and seasonal supply challenges.

Maintain backup supply arrangements to minimise production disruption.

Source new raw materials alongside Production, QA and Product Development teams.

Maintain accurate supplier, pricing and procurement records.

Support customs clearance and troubleshoot procurement system issues.

Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes and operational efficiency.

Requirements Minimum 1 year's experience in a Buying, Purchasing or Procurement role.

Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.

Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving abilities.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines.

Experience within a regulated environment.

Food manufacturing or FMCG experience is desirable.

Procurement systems and customs experience are advantageous. xwzovoh

CIPS qualification or willingness to pursue one is desirable.
