Electrical Design Senior Engineer

General Dynamics Land Systems is looking for a full‑time Electrical Design Senior Engineer to join our Engineering Team. The successful candidate will earn a favourable salary of £45,600 to £57,000 based on experience and potential. This is an ideal role for someone who has a proactive and positive mindset and a keen desire to grow professionally.

Joining an established team based at our Merthyr facility in South Wales, you will work across a range of stakeholders and take a holistic approach to electrical engineering, considering safety, cost and ease of manufacture.

Day‑to‑day responsibilities

• Produce electrical design solutions from system to part level.
• Take designs from concept, through development & validation (Cradle to Grave)
• Support to prototype and production teams during FoT fit and through life change updates.
• Preparation of material for internal and external design reviews

Requirements

• Proficient user of 3D CAD
• Proficient user of PDM systems (Windchill)
• Ability to develop conceptual and detail design of mechanical components and systems
• Work from first principal calculations
• EBoM management and maintenance
• Strong mathematical skills – including knowledge of First Principle Calculations
• Strong written and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work accurately and at pace
