About the role

We are recruiting a Therapist Assistant to join our team!

Southern Hill Hospital is preparing to open a new specialist Addiction Treatment Service for adults aged 18 and over, providing high-quality, person-centred support for individuals affected by substance misuse and co-occurring mental health needs.

Our new service is being developed to offer compassionate, evidence-based care within a safe and therapeutic environment where individuals can begin rebuilding stability, confidence, and independence.

Duties

Assist licensed occupational therapists in implementing therapy programmes tailored to individual patient needs
Support patients during therapy sessions, encouraging participation and engagement
Prepare therapy materials and equipment required for sessions
Monitor patient progress and report observations to the supervising therapist
Maintain accurate documentation of therapy activities and patient responses
Support patients with daily activities, promoting independence and confidence
Contribute to the organisation of therapy schedules and appointments
Uphold health and safety standards within the clinical environment
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members to ensure cohesive care delivery
