About Anochrome

Anochrome Ltd is an established specialist in electroplating and surface finishing, providing high-quality finishing solutions to customers across a range of demanding industrial sectors.

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Night Shift Manager to take full responsibility for the safe, efficient and productive operation of our manufacturing facility during the night shift.

This is a key management position offering genuine responsibility and autonomy. You will be responsible for leading the night-shift team, coordinating multiple manufacturing processes and ensuring production, quality, safety and customer delivery requirements are consistently achieved.

We need a confident manufacturing leader who can manage competing priorities, solve problems and make sound operational decisions without constant supervision.

The Role

This is a multi-process manufacturing management role, requiring someone who can confidently coordinate several production operations simultaneously while maintaining control of safety, quality, productivity and customer delivery.

Working predominantly without senior management on site, you will take ownership of the night operation from start to finish.

You will be expected to maintain a strong hands on shop-floor presence, provide clear direction to your team and take decisive action when operational issues arise.

Key Responsibilities

*

Take overall responsibility for night-shift production, performance and operational control.

*

Lead, motivate and manage the production team, maintaining high standards of accountability and performance.

*

Coordinate multiple manufacturing processes, ensuring production priorities and resources are effectively managed.

*

Plan and allocate labour to achieve production schedules and customer delivery requirements.

*

Monitor production output, productivity, downtime and key performance indicators.

*

Identify production bottlenecks, resolve operational issues and implement corrective actions.

*

Ensure manufacturing processes operate safely and in accordance with approved procedures and specifications.

*

Maintain quality standards, production traceability and effective control of non-conforming products.

*

Ensure compliance with health, safety, COSHH and environmental requirements, including effluent treatment and waste management.

*

Respond effectively to equipment breakdowns and coordinate with maintenance support.

*

Ensure completed products are inspected and transferred efficiently to the finished goods area.

*

Maintain accurate production records and provide clear, structured handovers between shifts.

*

Promote continuous improvement in productivity, housekeeping, teamwork and operational efficiency.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking an experienced manufacturing professional who combines strong people management skills with the practical ability to coordinate several production lines simultaneously.

Essential Requirements

*

Proven experience as a Production Supervisor, Shift Manager or Manufacturing Manager within a busy manufacturing environment.

*

Experience managing multiple production processes, departments or manufacturing lines simultaneously.

*

Strong leadership skills with experience managing, motivating and developing production teams.

*

Ability to coordinate labour, equipment and production priorities across different manufacturing operations.

*

Experience managing production targets, KPIs, downtime, efficiency and quality performance.

*

Confidence in making operational decisions and resolving production issues independently.

*

Strong understanding of manufacturing health and safety requirements.

*

Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.

*

A proactive, practical and hands-on management style with a strong shop-floor presence.

Highly Desirable

*

Experience in electroplating, surface finishing, metal finishing, industrial coatings or chemical processing.

*

Knowledge of barrel or rack plating operations.

*

Experience working with COSHH-controlled chemicals.

*

Understanding of effluent treatment and environmental compliance.

*

Experience with manufacturing quality systems and production traceability.

*

IOSH qualification or equivalent health and safety training.
