Operations Technician

Operations Technician Location: East London Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 + Benefits Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time, Day & Night Shift About the Role Our client is looking for an Operations Technician to join a leading energy generation facility in East London. This is a hands-on role responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of plant equipment while supporting maintenance activities and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities * Operate and monitor plant systems using DCS and field inspections * Support plant start-up, shutdown, and emergency shutdown activities * Carry out first-line maintenance and routine operational checks * Respond to operational issues and maintain plant performance * Identify and report plant defects and abnormalities * Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and statutory requirements * Work within Permit-to-Work and Safe Systems of Work procedures * Support outage planning and plant improvement projects * Maintain accurate operational records and documentation * Assist with the receipt and handling of plant consumables and raw materials Skills & Experience * Experience within power generation, utilities, manufacturing, chemical, or process industries * First-line maintenance experience * Experience working within a continuous process environment * Knowledge of Permit-to-Work systems and risk assessments * Fault finding and problem-solving skills * Strong communication and teamwork abilities * Good IT skills including Microsoft Office * Previous shift-working experience Desirable * Power generation or translatable industry experience * Electrical switching or commissioning experience * Experience within a safety-critical environment What's on Offer? * Day and Night Shift Pattern * Opportunity to work within a modern energy generation facility * Ongoing training and development * Exposure to both operations and maintenance activities * Salary uplift after completion of internal training Apply Now If you have experience as an Operations Technician, Process Operator, Plant Operator, Utilities Operator, or Power Generation Technician, we'd like to hear from you.
