Position: Logistics Team Leader G7 Scp23 (Management) Location: Prospect Works, Gloucester, GL2 5HS Start Date: ASAP Contract Duration: 3+ Months Working Hours: 37 hours per week Pay Rate: PAYE: £17.85 per hour Job Reference: (phone number removed)  Job Responsibilities: Logistics Team Leader (G7) Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the logistics team, ensuring efficient delivery of services. Supervise, support, and motivate team members to achieve operational targets and maintain high performance standards. Coordinate logistics activities, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow management. Monitor service delivery and ensure that all logistics operations comply with organisational policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements. Allocate workloads effectively and provide guidance to team members to ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time. Identify operational issues and implement practical solutions to improve efficiency and service quality. Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation relating to logistics activities and team performance. Work collaboratively with internal departments, external partners, and stakeholders to ensure smooth service delivery. Support continuous improvement initiatives by reviewing processes and recommending enhancements. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, contractual requirements, and council standards. Assist with recruitment, training, performance management, and development of logistics staff where required. Manage competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of customer service. Person Specification Essential Skills and Experience Proven experience in a logistics, transport, warehouse, or operational management environment. Experience of supervising or leading a team and managing staff performance. Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels. Ability to analyse operational issues and implement effective solutions. Good understanding of health and safety requirements within a logistics environment. Ability to maintain accurate records and produce clear reports. Experience working within a customer-focused service environment. Ability to work independently and make informed decisions while also contributing as part of a wider team. Desirable Skills and Qualifications Experience working within a local authority or public sector environment. Knowledge of logistics systems, scheduling processes, and resource management. Experience of continuous improvement methods and service development. Relevant qualification or training in logistics, management, transport, or a related field.
