Primary Care Research Locality GP Clinical Leads
About the role
JOB TITLE: Primary Care Research Locality GP Clinical Leads - There are four posts available, one mapped to each of the areas of the Federation Support Units - Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western.
Each post holder will have primary responsibility for delivering on the objectives of the role within the assigned locality while working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a consistent approach across the region.
Applicants are asked to rank their order of preference for the four locality roles and may indicate only those localities they would be willing to accept.
The successful candidates will be appointed to one locality post only.
HOURS: 1 session per week
SALARY: £14,407.56 per annum (actual) / £277 per session
DURATION: 2-year fixed term contract in the first instance with possibility of permanency
Secondments will be considered
JOB SUMMARY/MAIN PURPOSE:
There are four posts available, one mapped to each of the areas of the Federation Support Units (Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western). Each post holder will have primary responsibility for delivering on the objectives of the role within the assigned locality while working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a consistent approach across the region.
The post holders will be responsible for raising awareness of research opportunities within Primary Care and across the GP Federations. They will be responsible for supporting those GP Practices within their locality wishing to get involved in Primary Care research studies and supporting GP Practices to develop and maintain research readiness.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Professional qualification as General Practitioner, full registration with the GMC, on the NI GP Performers List and record of and commitment to continuing professional development.
- Experience working as a GP with demonstrable knowledge of the Primary Care landscape in the locality/localities for which the applicant is applying.

- The successful candidate must hold a full current driving license (valid in the UK) and have access to a car at the closing date or have ** access to a form of transport which will permit the applicant to carry out the duties of the post in full.
