Quantity Surveyor

Ashbys Consulting are working with one of the leading main contractors in Essex, who are looking to appoint an experienced, qualified, contracting-focussed Quantity Surveyor.The company deliver a variety of residential and commercial projects; including housing, care homes, office units, car showrooms, schools, and public buildings. Projects are a mixture of new-build, refurbishment and restoration, and can be valued up to £8m. Sites are typically located in Essex and the South East, and are delivered for both private and public sector clients.Working in a small commercial team and reporting to the Managing Surveyor, you will be responsible for the full commercial management of up to three projects at once. You will need a proven track record of managing multiple projects of a similar size and type while working for another main contractor. You will also need to have a good client-facing manner, with the ability to build relationships which will generate future work.Right now, the company have a £5m office development due to start in Colchester; as well as a couple of new-build care homes valued up to £7m. Ideally you will be able to take a couple of these projects and deliver them from scratch.The company have a very stable workforce, and a very reliable, repetitive client base.
