About the role

Role: Project Manager – HV Substation Upgrade Location: Scotland Work Mode: On Site Start Date: Beginning of October 2026 Contract Length: 6 months, with strong potential to extend Extra Info: Rate (do not disclose): I’m currently looking for experienced Project Managers for an upcoming high-voltage substation upgrade project in Scotland. This is a key delivery role with overall responsibility for ensuring the project package is completed safely, on time, within budget and in line with client and contractual requirements. The successful candidate will coordinate closely with the client, engineering teams, designers, vendors and subcontractors throughout the full project lifecycle. Key responsibilities will include: * Managing programme, budget, resources and project milestones * Coordinating design, procurement, construction and commissioning activities * Managing project risks, changes and technical queries * Supporting outage planning, energisation and key delivery dates * Providing regular progress updates and reporting to the client * Ensuring HSE, quality and contractual deliverables are achieved * Coordinating multidisciplinary teams across the project The ideal candidate will have: * Strong experience delivering HV substation upgrades * A solid understanding of EPC project delivery * Experience working on high-voltage transmission projects * The ability to manage multiple stakeholders and technical disciplines * Previous experience within SP Energy Networks, National Grid or a similar UK utility environment * Exposure to 275kV–400kV substation project upgrades
