About the role

Income Manager Part time (circa 3 days per week – flexible) Salary: circa £50k FTE South-East London Are you an experienced income management professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, resident‑focused environment? We’re partnering with a small, ambitious housing provider to recruit a dynamic Income Manager who can lead a high‑performing team, drive service excellence and make a meaningful impact on residents’ lives. This is a newly created role with real influence. You’ll shape the organisation’s approach to income recovery, embed a proactive “rent‑first” culture, and ensure services are delivered with compassion, professionalism and a strong focus on tenancy sustainment. The Role As Income Manager, you will: * Lead, motivate and develop a small team of Income Recovery Officers * Deliver a proactive, holistic income management service that supports residents to thrive * Maximise income across current and former tenant arrears, service charges and sundry debts * Manage complex and high‑risk cases, including legal action where required * Analyse arrears trends and performance data to identify risks and drive continuous improvement * Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, legislation and the Housing Ombudsman’s Complaint Handling Code * Build strong internal and external partnerships to support tenancy sustainment and community wellbeing * Champion excellent customer service and embed a positive, solution‑focused culture About You We’re looking for someone who brings: * Up‑to‑date knowledge of housing legislation, welfare benefits and best practice in income management * A proven track record of improving KPIs, maximising income and delivering responsive, resident‑focused services * Experience managing staff and leading teams through change * Confidence handling complex arrears cases, including those requiring legal action * Strong communication skills, resilience and a calm, fair approach * Excellent IT and data analysis skills, particularly Excel and housing management systems * The ability to work autonomously, make evidence‑based decisions and drive service improvements * A positive, collaborative style and a genuine commitment to supporting residents * A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle This vacancy is being advertised on behalf of Greenacre Recruitment Ltd who are operating as a recruitment agency and business
