Were on an exciting growth journey and are looking for a driven, enthusiastic Cost Manager to join our team in Porton Down, working on our DSTL account. You'll be part of a core team supporting a programme of works ranging from 5m and beyond on a variety of projects.
Please note that due to this role being for a Government client, security clearance will be required, and this will be undertaken once you have secured the role. You must be a British national to be eligible to undergo the security clearance process.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Act as the Construction Cost Consultant to monitor the project finances and contractual relationships, ensuring the financial position of construction projects is controlled effectively.
- Carry out regular valuations and present detailed analysis information on the cost of particular elements of work on a periodic basis to enable payment for those works to be made.
- Advise on commercial matters and procurement strategy, as well as contractual claims and legal matters.
- Manage costs to ensure project budgets are not exceeded, acting as financial advisor whilst monitoring progress for the client.
- Attend meetings to provide highlight reports as requested by the project manager to communicate your findings.
About You
Our ideal Cost Manager will have:
- Relevant qualification/experience in Cost Management within a consultancy environment.
- Must be eligible to achieve/already have SC Clearance.
- Defence experience and/or work on Government accounts would be beneficial.
- Desire to work closely with a strong on-site presence with both Pick Everard colleagues and DSTL stakeholders.
- Strong ability to manage day-to-day programming and planning.
- Excellent client communication, report writing, and project-level presentation skills.
- MRICS/ Chartered Surveyor status beneficial.
