Business Development Director

Business Development Director Vibe Recruit are currently recruiting for an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Director on behalf of a rapidly growing organisation. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a high-performing individual with a proven track record of securing and managing large-scale projects valued at £3M+, ideally within Social Housing, Net Zero, retrofit, insulation, heating, or renewable energy markets. You will cover the South West region, including Somerset, Devon, Cornwall, Bristol, Gloucestershire, and surrounding area. You will play a key role in driving strategic growth, developing long-term stakeholder relationships, and leading business development initiatives across a broad portfolio of energy and sustainability projects. The role will also involve leading and developing an internal support and project management function as the division continues to expand. Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships with social housing providers, local authorities, and key stakeholders across the South West Identify and secure new business opportunities, building a strong and sustainable project pipeline Lead client meetings to understand project requirements and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction Work closely with operational and commercial teams to monitor project delivery and performance Review and support project programmes to ensure delivery targets, quality standards, and timelines are achieved Support the ongoing growth and development of the wider project management and business development teamsSkills & Experience Required Minimum 3 years' experience within the construction, energy, retrofit, or business development sectors Proven success managing or securing large-scale projects valued at £3M+ Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills Good understanding of project management principles and stakeholder engagement Experience leading or mentoring teams would be advantageous Strong knowledge of the Social Housing sector and Net Zero strategy within the South West Excellent communication, organisational, and relationship-building skillsBenefits Company Share Scheme Electric Vehicle Company Pension Enhanced Senior Management Holiday Allowance Health Care Support AccessThis is an excellent opportunity to join an ambitious and environmentally focused organisation where innovation, sustainability, and long-term growth are at the centre of its vision.
